International Relations Main Actors

International Relations Main Actors
Review between state-nation actor and non-state actors in the world politics
I. State Nation Actors in World Politics
The practice and theory of international relations importantly which focuses on sovereign statehood, have commonly raised questions and debates. In order to relate those questions and arguments, traditional and new approaches are devised between IR scholars. One an extreme scholar groups have deliberately focused on the IR scope of study based on interstate relations. What they refer is an interstate relation that consists of state-nation as the main actor in international politics. Meanwhile, in respond to that, another group of scholars create idea that scope of IR study must have been dealing with human relations thoroughly. Due to differences above, the state system issued as the main point of reference for both.
In response to that, I would mention about state system as a reference as another way to bridge those different insights. The same with definition about national interests and power according to realists; so is state system, there is no precise consensus emerged with exact definition about it. That state system is analyzed and identified by comparing between different knowledge of analysis. However, state system is simply identified by two categories:
1) State as a government versus (2) state as country
II. Non-state Actors in World Politics
In the early age when international relations formerly established as the subject (science) to study in order to analyze and explain the relations between nations, the main actor mostly discussed (spoken) in IR is a state, a nation and state nation. A state as the main actor in IR holds authority to create foreign policy in order to achieve its national interest (realists view). However, IR is noted as a “growing and developing field of study and dynamic” in which its main object is increasingly changing and adjusting to the development of IR actors itself. Nowadays, IR is not merely discussing about nation or state only as the central case study (as post-positivist grow within international relations theory and some economic liberalist view), it has been starting to alter due to the complexity of world politics. Therefore, IR then introduces a new IR actor which is non-state actors. This stresses out that IR actors are not limited anymore by a figure of nation or state and authorized government with its bureaucracy.
